Ciao Malz

Ciao Malz is the dream-pop moniker of Malia DelaCruz, a self-taught, Brooklyn-based Filipino-American multi-instrumentalist who channels diary-like introspection into lush, slow-churning indie rock. Originally recording lo-fi demos on GarageBand in her Connecticut bedroom, DelaCruz sharpened her skills playing bass in the local New York scene before signing with the indie label Audio Antihero to release her standout debut EP, Safe Then Sorry. Her music beautifully marries a casual, hypnotic vocal delivery with shimmering, wobbly synth textures and plucked guitars, crafting a sweet yet melancholic sound perfect for fans of Clairo and Men I Trust.
