How I Became A Wave

How I Became A Wave is the solo music project of Pat Carey, a singer-songwriter from Cork, Ireland. After playing in the indie band The Hard Ground, Pat started this project to make what he beautifully calls "aggressively quiet" music. His songs feel like a mix of poetry and a movie soundtrack, using gentle strings and acoustic storytelling to explore honest feelings about love, loss, and daily life. Backed by a close-knit group of talented Irish musicians, he creates a warm, cinematic folk sound that hits close to home.
